It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain white field.

Shield Gules, in base a fess wavy Argent charged with three barrulets wavy Azure, crowned by two mountains Vert fimbriated Or and a belfry issuant Or, in chief a windmill's wheel Or flanked by two lettuces of the same. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "FREGUESIA DE LOURES".
Meaning:
The belfry is representing the local parish church, being classified as a national monument. The mountains are representing the ridges of Montemor Range. The millwheel is representing the numerous local windmills. The lettuces are symbolizing agriculture. Local products are frequently sold in the markets of Lisboa.
