Coat of arms

Shield Gules, a cogwheel Argent and a mattock's blade Argent ordered per fess, in central chief an orb Or, in base two fern leaves Or crossed per saltire. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "FOLGOSA - MAIA".
Meaning:
The orb is an attribute of Jesus Christ, being the local patron saint as the Divine Saviour.

Folgosa Commune is one of the ten communes of the Maia municipality (q.v.); it had 3704 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 10.3 km².
