Shield chequered of 15 of Or and Azure, over all a cross patty Gules, charged with a Greek cross Argent. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "VILA BOA DE QUIRES".
Meaning:
The cross is alluding to the Order of the Knights of Christ.
Please note, we here have a checquered shield, although shield partitions are not allowed by law (and this pattern is at least implicitly forbidden).

Vila Boa de Quires Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Marco de Canavezes Municipality; it had 3394 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 16.1 km².

Shield Azure, two watermill's wheels Argent ordered per fess, in chief a crown Or, in base a grapevine Or leaved Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "MAURELES".
Meaning:
Please note that the crown, although shaped like a a royal crown, is denoted in Portuguese blazon as a Marian crown, and thus alluding to St. Mary, probably being the local patron saint.
