Shield Gules with base wavy of Argent and Azure, a trout haurient Argent trapped by a fish hook of the same and flanked by two rye ears Or crossed per saltire. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and short white scroll (in Bénard Guedes style) with inscription in black initials: "MESSEGÃES".

Shield Argent parted by a cross equipolé Azure, the cross beam on chief is charged with a Paschal Lamb. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank)and white scroll with inscription in black initials: "SÁ - MONÇÃO".
Meaning:
The Paschal Lamb is an attribute of St. John the Baptist, the local patron saint.
