It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain red field.

The arms are Argent a chevron Sable fretty of Argent between a rose Azure seeded Or and barbed Vert and a lyre Gules. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "VERMOIL - POMBAL".
Meaning:
The communal territory is crossed by the main Portuguese railway Linha do Norte, with an eponymous station, which is probably meant in the arms with the chevron fretty Sable. The rose probably is an attribute of Our Lady of Conception, the local patron saint.

Vermoil Commune is one of the 13 communes of Pombal Municipality; it had 2656 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 21.7 km².
