The crest of the TTDF was changed around 2012. The new TTDF flag came about
soon after.

I located Trinidad and Tobago defence forces flag side by side with the naval ensign (that appears as the coast guard flag) at www.ttdf.mil.tt.

From the quoted website, I infer that it could be the Regiment
flag?

From the site it appears that the defence forces are combined
from an HQ, a regiment, coast guard and orchestra.
Both flags appears at the HQ page (no flag at regiment page and
naval ensign at CG page) but you could be right and the site
shows the two military flags of the Defence forces , the army
(which is the regiment) , and the navy (which is the CG).

The flag is actually that of the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment
(or First Trinidad and Tobago Regiment as it should be properly
referred to). There is a separate flag/ensign for the Coast
Guard. The Defence Force comprises the Regiment, Coast Guard and
Defence Force Headquarters together with the Volunteer Defence
Force.

Despite having obtained independence in 1962, the Queen’s Colours presented
in 1964 followed the design of using the Union flag, rather than the flag of
Trinidad and Tobago.
