Description

Organizational Flag, 193rd Infantry Brigade (Separate): I previously posted the flag of the 33rd Infantry Brigade (Separate), a unit which was reorganized from a division and kept its old insignia. The 193rd was organized from the start as a separate brigade and, like most such units, had a rectangular shoulder sleeve insignia with rounded ends. Many of these separate infantry brigade insignias featured a bayonet. White piping around the insignia provides contrast with the field of the flag.

There was a major change in 1904; I think that's when the size of infantry colors was reduced from 72 x 78 inches to 52 x 66 inches, and at or about the same time the inscription of the regimental designation and battle honors on the national color was ended.
