Description of the flag

The county's flag was designed in 1976 for our bicentennial by a Ms. Kersting. There is a picture of the flag on the WIU Archives digital image database (collections.carli.illinois.edu ). The image that is online is actually upside down, but none the less the flag.

The flag is white, with a large yellow star centered, draped over by a blue ribbon stating McDONOUGH COUNTY, and in three arms of the star, leaves - oak, aspen and ash(?)
