Crestwood officials adopted a fresh city logo and a new city flag at the
April 23 board of aldermen meeting. According to city ordinances, an official
flag must be incorporated and displayed at the Crestwood City Government Center.
Crestwood Mayor Grant Mabie said the new city logo reflects slight stylistic
changes, but that the new flag was truly revamped. He said the former city flag
was designed in the 1970s and has not flown recently. Mabie added that the city
ordinance also spells out that the city’s mayors should designate the overall
places where the municipal flag is to be placed. In addition to the government
center, he requested the new flag be added to the Crestwood Community Center and
public works facility building. The flag encompasses the revised city logo
against a white background.
Mabie said he hopes the flags can be offered
for sale to residents who want to also display the new flag as signs of
Crestwood pride.

"Crestwood officially adopted its city flag in 1973, after holding a design contest for residents. William Shana won first place. Occasionally, a city flag's history includes a little goof."
