A Flag-Drawing Contest, open to all Montvale residents, was announced at that meeting. Supervised by Shirley Keller, the contest was to provide the Borough with its unique Borough flag. The contest closed on March 19 with 31 entries received. Three prizes were awarded, and the winning entry, submitted by Eric Wexler, was made into the official centennial flag.
