This white burgee is shaped like the Ohio Flag with two points. Inside a green border, appear 18 gold stars and a round picture of a farm scene. The picture is labeled "Switzerland of Ohio." Monroe County was organized in 1815. It was named for James Monroe who was U.S. Secretary of State at the time.
