Description of the flag

The flag of the City of Newberg, Oregon, has a white background with a camellia in the middle and red around, with four green leafs, and "CITY OF NEWBERG" in black letters below. Large photo of the flag was sent to me by Norma I. Alley, CMC, City Recorder, City of Newberg OR.

"...the City doesn't have any history behind our flag other than the creation was initiated by a previous Mayor in the 90s. The earliest date we can find an order for is 1997. The Flag has a picture of the official City Flower, which is the Camellia. The Newberg City Council approved the Camellia as its official flower on 4/4/1949 via Ordinance No. 1949-1055."
