"...the City doesn't have any history behind our flag other than the creation was initiated by a previous Mayor in the 90s. The earliest date we can find an order for is 1997. The Flag has a picture of the official City Flower, which is
the Camellia. The Newberg City Council approved the Camellia as its official flower on 4/4/1949 via Ordinance No. 1949-1055."
