Description of the flag

The non-profit community group "You in Flood City" held a flag contest in March 2019 and received 38 entries. The flag designed by Jill Skowron-Gontkovic was adopted by the city on August 14, 2019.

The Facebook post by "You in Flood City" describes the flag.
https://www.facebook.com/youinfc/posts/2426160627602963:
"The green represents the hills, trails and outdoor recreation of Johnstown. The blue representing the rivers and water recreation. I went with three arches for the 3 major floods, and the 3 rivers: Stonycreek, Conemaugh and the Little Conemaugh Rivers. The arches make up the Stone Bridge, which is a major landmark of Johnstown. The three yellow stars represent iron, coal, and steel, which are central to Johnstown."
