The former flag is a white field with the city seal in the center.

The seal shows a scene of the Rocky Mountains that surround the city. In front of the mountains are the duel flags of the United States and Switzerland, as the town is known for it's swiss cultural heritage. At the bottom is what could be a cow bell, which is tied into swiss culture and the farm animal industry, particularly cows. A banner behind the bell shows the establishment year.
