Found online here, here, and here, this is a common theme among sports teams in the U.S., to use the team's colors in the form of an American flag, with the stars in the canton replaced by the team's logo. In this case, the stripes are green and white with the ram's head logo in
white on a green canton.

For nearly six and a half years, a yellow flag flew on the pole next to the American flag. The students, staff, faculty, guests and alumni were sending their prayers and thoughts to Dr. Tom Sutherland, a CSU professor who was being held captive in Lebanon. For the 2,354 days that Dr. Sutherland was held hostage, the yellow flag hung over the CSU campus in his memory. The flag was lowered in 1991, after he was released and returned to the United States.
