Description of the flag

The flag of Montalbán Municipality is official since January 19, 1999. Previously it had been presented to the Municipal Council, on September 13, 1998, by the chronicler of the city Professor Mary Acuña Parra for acceptance and approval. This flag is made up of 3 equal horizontal stripes with the colors blue representing the beauty of its sky and the limpidity of the waters that irrigate the valley; green expresses the majesty of its mountains; and orange means the hard work of its people, the diversity of fruits of its tropical climate and the fertility of its agricultural area. In the center strip, the green one, a white petroglyph symbolizes the archaeological wealth of the area.
