The flag of the Tibetan women's association is green, with the logo of the
association in the middle. The logo shows a lotus growing out of water, with a
symbol I could not identify above. On its sides are a half-vajra-topped mace or
staff on the left, and a flaming trident on the right. Each of them are wrapped
with red silk. The whole is contained in a decorated golden cartouche. There is
a white scroll below. The central part of the scrool reads "Tibetan women's
association", the left and right parts read the same thing in Tibetan
(བོད་ཀྱི་བུད་མེད་ལྷན་ཚོགས་
- bod kyi kyi bud med lhan tshogs).
This association was founded in 1984, and its objectives are, among others, to
promote the social, political, and economic equality of Tibetan women, in Tibet
and in Tibetan exile communities and to ensure Tibetan women have access to
adequate educational information about health care, child care and family
planning.
