Presentation of Pro Belgica

Pro Belgica, a non-profit organization established at Brussels, is dedicated to "promoting patriotism in the largest possible sense, honouring the Belgians who made, served, and defended the Kingdom of Belgium, commemorating the fights of September 1830, favouring and encouraging loyalty towards the Monarchy and all manifestations of unity and concord between the Belgians".

Pro Belgica - Latin for 'pro Belgium' - originally founded with a view to preserve and honour the 1830 Martyrs' Monument in Brussels, later enlarged its scope to further the aims quoted above, and became a non-profit organization in 2002. The board is chaired by Princess Rosalie de Merode.

Flag of Pro Belgica

The flag of Pro Belgica is a modified Belgian flag, with military finial. The emblem in the middle is made of a blue Maltese cross, royally crowned, with the Belgian roundel (from inside out, black, yellow and red) in the middle, silver tassels between the arms of the cross; beneath the emblem are the words "PRO BELGICA" in black (not used on the flag).

Pro Belgica now sells a Belgian flag with a crown in the black stripe top, similar to the Belgian yacht ensign with the crown in full colors, but smaller.
