In 1990 the Bulgarian Communist Party changed its name to Bulgarian Socialist Party. Part of the radical left wing of the party started several new parties named Bulgarian Communist Party and variations of that name. They use the former Soviet flag or a plain red flag or versions of the flag of the International Labour Movement. These flags are sometimes also used by the left wing of the actual Bulgarian Socialist Party.
