About the Flag of Camaragibe

The flag of Camaragibe, was inaugurated on 26 August 1983. Its designer is Adeildo Pereira Da Silva. It symbolizes: sky blue - the pure sky, white - peace, green - vegetation, the four yellow stars represent the locaation of the city of between São Lourenço de Mata, Paudalho, Paulista and Recife and the central green star symbolizes Camaragibe, representing its future hope. The red cross represents faith. The branches represent camará, a shrub abundant locally, from which the city got its name. The white band with the phrase "faith and hope", means faith in God and hope in a perpetual progress.
