About the Flag

The municipality of Anhumas (3,738 inhabitants in 2010; 32,093 ha) is located 30 km of Presidente Prudente and 560 km of São Paulo.

Anhumas was founded on 6 August 1922. In 1928, the village counted 120 houses for a total population of c. 500; some 4 million coffee trees were grown. On 5 August 1928, 312 villagers went to the State Chamber of Representatives to ask the establishment of the district of Anhumas, which was obtained on 14 December 1928. The municipality of Anhumas was established in December 1953, seceding from Presidente Prudente.

The symbols of Anhumas are prescribed in Article 5 of the Municipal Constitution, adopted on 31 March 1990, as "the flag and the anthem".
