Description of the flag

I've been told by Kevin McKinnon, Corporate Officer/Communications Officer of the city of Grand Forks, that the city was rebranded in 2013. The coat of arms flag was retired, although the coat of arms is still used for ceremonial and other official purposes. The only flags now used have the 2013 logo.

The flag of the City of Grand Forks, BC, features the municipal coat of arms which features the West Kootenay Mountains, wheat fields (agriculture), pine trees (forestry) and mining cart set against a red triangle (copper mining). The depiction of the sun reflects the location of the City in the “Sunshine Valley”.

The motto “Divitiae ex Solo” means "riches from the soil", alluding to agriculture and mining, both prominent in the area.
