NunatuKavut, the as-yet unrecognized southern Labrador Inuit territory in Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada, has initiated a competition to design their first flag: The contest was posted on Sept 24.

The Metis region of Labrador known as NunatuKavut has been soliciting flag designs for at least a few years, and has now settled on a proposal, and is seeking feedback on it.​
