Flag

The canton of Montes de Oro (Puntarenas province, Costa Rica) has a flag, according to its website: http://www.munimontesdeoro.go.cr/montes-de-oro/bandera/

It has three horizontal stripes (3:4:3):
- upper blue for the rivers that surround the landscapes of Montes de Oro.
- middle yellow for the mineral wealth of the mountains,
- lower green for the natural wealth.
In the center of middle stripe is the coat of arms, with elements standing for education, livestock, mining, and a view of the Gulf of Nicoya with the mountains of the canton.
