Pommersfelden Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Argent a pale Azure charged with a tau-cross Argent, flanked by two embattled towers Gules masoned Sable, in base Gules a lion Or double queued passant over the three piles Argent in base, crowned and armed Azure.
Meaning:
Lion and the tinctures red, white and blue are taken from the arms of the Sewers of Pommersfelden, who owned the greatest part of the village in the 14th century. The tau-cross is an attribute of St. Anthony, patron saint of the church of Sambach village. The towers are taken from the former municipal arms of Steppach village.The are also representing past and current locol castles.
