Scheßlitz Coat of Arms

Issuant from base an embattled wall Argent masoned Sable, in chief parted per pale, at dexter Or a lion rampant Sable armed and tongued Gules and superimposed by a bendlet Argent, at sinister Argent a fish hook Gules.
Meaning:
The dexter chief displays the arms of the Bishopric of Bamberg. The fish hook is taken from the family arms of Bishop Lamprecht of Brunn, who acquired the city for the bishopric in 1390. The embattled wall is symbolising the status of a city. Between 1819 and 1836 the lion of Bamberg was replaced by a field in the Bavarian colours blue and white.
