Volkerode Coat of Arms

The shield is silver, a black bend charged with a golden sword. Above left is a green branch of linden tree with three leaves. Beneath right is a red bendy antler.
The sword is representing the Knights of Volkerode and is an attribute of St. Michael, the local patron saint. The branch is representing the linden tree on the local common. Finally the antler is reminding on the resettlement of deer in the Eichsfeld region, which began in Volkerode.
