The shield displays a modified Franconian rake, charged in base with the blossom Argent seeded Or of a Carline thistle (Latin: Carlina acaulis)
Meaning:
The village probably was a possession of the i>Bishops of Würzburg until 1802 and thus displays the Franconian rake. The higher central point of the rake is symbolising the location of the municipality in the mountains of Hohe Rhön. The thistle is symbolising the local flora.
