Althegnenberg Coat of Arms

Shield parted per bend, above left Argent a shearer's scissors Gules, beneath right a horsehead issuant Argent with forelock Or.
Meaning:
The red scissors are the heraldic symbol of the Lords of Hegnenberg, who owned a little castle in the village from the 12th until the 13th century. They had been vassals of the Welfen kin, later of the Staufen kin and finally of the Wittelsbach kin. The horsehead is a canting element, referring to the Barons of Füll (English: foal). Their family arms displayed a foal on a mountain. They had been manorial lords from the 16th until the 19th century. The basic tinctures are those of Bayern.
