Kottgeisering Coat of Arms

French shield Azure, on a triplemount issuant Or a heron Argent holding a fish Argent by his beak, in sinister chief an 8-point star Argent, shiled superimposing the lozengy shield of Bayern, also displayed as French shield.
Meaning:
Flag and arms of the municipality do not match the specifiations of the Bavarian government. Not allowed are flags in the colours blue and white. The arms combine municipal symbols with the lesser arms of Bayern, the latter is also forbidden. The arms are based on a draft from 1948. Heron, realised as white, and fish, realised as grey, are alluding to the very old settlement of fishermen on the shores of the Ammersee. The triplemount is representing local burial mounds, one of them from 600 AD. The star is a mere ornament. The Bavarian shield in the background is referring to the fact that Kottgeisering belonged to the Landsberg Court District for ages. Although the general State Archive had been inclined to approve the shield in front, the procedure never came to an end.
