Friedenweiler Coat of Arms

Shield Argent with bordure nebuly of Azure and Argent, a church Gules with bulbous spire at sinister, in dexter chief a plough share Azure.
Meaning:
Friedenweiler was first mentioned in 1123. In the 14th century a Benedictian nunnery was established, it passed to the Cistercian nuns in 1570. Since 1802 the monastery was given to the Princes of Fürstenberg. The bordure nebuly is taken from their arms. The church is referring to the monastery. And the plough share was taken from the arms of Rötenbach municipality, which was incorporated on 1 January 1975.
