Sankt Peter Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, a fir Argent on top of a triplemount Vert issuant from base, the stem superimposed by crossed keys Or in saltire.
Meaning:
The municipality was established in 1813 by a merger of some bailiwicks of the reeves of the local St.Peter Monastery, which had been secularised in 1806. All bailiwicks had seals with the initials "SP" and the crossed keys as attribute of St.Peter, their patron saint, plus an additional distinguishing mark. Municipal coloured stamps from the 19th century displayed already the fir on solid ground, flanked by initials and keys. The draft of the current pattern was suggested in 1898 by the State Archive, but adopted in 1960 by the municipality and noted by the ministry on 24 March 1961.
