It was a white-black vertical bicolour, published in GaBl 230/1981.

It was a white-red vertical bicolour, published in GaBl 558/1983.
The arms at that time displayed an oblique house, which was however rather out-of-favour among the local people.

Shield Argent mantled Sable, in base a lion rampant Gules, above right a 5-spokes wheel Argent, above left a horse forcene Argent.
Meaning:
The lion is taken from the arms of the Lords of Wallhausen. The wheel is taken from the arms of the Barons of Berlichingen and is also representing the former Michelbach upon Lücke Municipality. The horse is representing the former Hengstfeld Municipality and had been a canting element in the Hengstfeld arms.
