Oftersheim Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess abased, above lozengy of Argent and Azure, beneath Argent, a W-shaped serpent passant Vert.
Meaning:
The settlement had been a possession of the Bishopric of Speyer. Together with the Hardtwald Forest and Wersau Castle it was acquired by the Palatine Counts of Rhine in the late 13th century. It remained a Palatine possession until 1802. The arms are on the oldest known court seal with prints from 1676. The lozenges are reminding on the Wittelsbach kin. The serpent was found on boundary stones since 1609. The tinctures were fixed in 1937.

Banner and arms were approved on 28 October 1959 by Minister of Interior of Baden-Württemberg, published in GABl 592/1959.
