Coat of Arms

Shield quartered, 1st quarter Argent a throughout cross Sable; 2nd quarter quartered of Gules and Argent, the latter charged with four veirs ordered 2:2; 3rd quarter Gules a forked cross Or; 4th quarter Or a bend wavy Azure, in sinister base a black Gothic initial "G".
Meaning:
The market town gained city rights in 1378. The 1st quarter displays the arms of the Teutonic Order, the 2nd quarter the family arms of the Cronberg kin, the 3rd quarter the family arms of the Lords of Horneck, who overhanded castle and village to the Teutonic Order in 1250, the charges of the 4th quarter refer to the name and location on the banks of Neckar River
