Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a red field is a silver (=white), crowned, double queued, rampant lion. The golden (= yellow) base shows a black caltrop or wolf trap.
Meaning:
According to source the lion is symbolizing the lords of Heinsberg, the former rulers. The trap was the distinguishing mark of the village. The colours are those from the dukes of Jülich, who ruled the area since 1484.
