Coat of Arms

Shield Argent with base Vert, a castle Gules roofed Azure with a tower of the same at dexter, over all in base an inescutcheon Azure, charged with a lion barry (once) of Argent and Gules crowned Or.
Meaning:
The inescutcheon is a modification (Minderung<7i>) of the arms of Hesse.
The arms were approved on 17 August 1977 by Minister of Interior of Hesse.
