Shield parted per bend wavy of Argent and Vert, a pair of beech branches with three leaves each in counterchanged colours, embattled chief Gules charged with a scythe blade Argent in fess.
Meaning:
Blade and embattlements refer to the local Sensenstein castle. The bendy wavy line is representing Nieste River, name giver of the commune. The branches are representing the natural preserves Kaufunger Wald and Münden.
