Saale-Orla County Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale; at dexter Sable, a lion rampant Or, crowned, armed and tongued Gules; at sinister Or a sinister facing lion rampant Sable; base Gules charged with two bars wavy Argent.
Meaning:
The lions in the upper part of the arms symbolise the two major historical rulers in the area, the Margraves of Meißen, represented by the black lion and the Princes of Reuß, represented by the golden lion. The base represents the two name giving rivers Saale and Orla.
