Aglasterhausen Coat of Arms

Shield Argent with base Vert, upon base a house Gules between two poplars proper, on the roof a magpie proper.
Meaning:
The pattern is known from local seals from the 18th century. The trees had been similar to oaks and the bird in 1786 is already denoted as a magpie (German: Elster). The pattern was improved in 1900 and the trees turned to poplars. The tinctures were fixe in 1961. The municipality's name is interpreted as "Elsterhausen" (= house of the magpie), derived from Old High German "agilastra", a magpie or crow. The arms are thus partially canting.

The banner was approved on 7 June 1962 by Minister of Interior of Baden-Württemberg, published in GABl 336/1962.
