Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
Shield Gules, an eagle Sable armed and speckled Argent.
Meaning:
The biggest village in the municipality had been Katlenburg-Duhm (nowadays Katlenburg), which consisted of Katlenburg castle and beneath Duhme village. The village was founded by the Counts of Katlenburg. The arms are probably their family arms, though this information couldn't be confirmed.
