Weißenhorn Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, three sinister pointing hunting horns Argent in pale with devored laces Or and metal fittings of the same.
Meaning:
The first seal probably was made under the rule of Berchtold von Neuffen, Count of Marstetten and Graisbach. Prints existed since 1338. Early literature denotes the horns as canting, as the area had been a hunting ground, before the settlement was established. On the other hand the family arms of the Neuffen kin, the founders of the city, displayed three silver horns in a black field. Later seals from 1476 and 1549 displayed the same pattern with sinister facing horns. The tinctures are fixed since the middle of the 16th century. Hans Burgkmair the Elder (1516/17) displayed a banner of arms of the city. The arms are furthermore canting, displaying "white horns".
