Schwarzheide Coat of Arms

Shield parted per bend wavy, beneath left Sable a branch of heather Argent, above left Argent an otter rampant reguardant Sable having a fish Azure in his muzzle.
Meaning:
The heather (German: Heide) is a canting element. The otter is symbolising the historical importance of catching fish, crayfish and eels. The former arms were approved in 1967 and abolished in 1993. They displayed a shield parted per fess of Azure and Vert, above a chemical factory Argent, beneath a grain ear Or in bend, over all a letter "S" Sable. Factory and ear were symbolising industries and agriculture. The letter is the initial of the municipality's name.
