Description of current flag:
The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a red-white-red horizontal triband with ratio of stripes 1:4:1. The coat of arms is in the middle of the white stripe.

Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
Shield Argent, two stepped chevrons Gules.
Meaning:
The arms are taken from the family arms of the namesake kin, who had been commisionaires of the Archbishopric of Bremen and owned big real estates in the area. The arms were approved on 5 March 1938 by Oberpräsident of Prussian Hannover Province.
