Nearly two thirds of the blue shield are covered by a silver (= white) wall partially masoned black. In front of the wall is St.Mary with the Holy Infant. Mary wears a red robe and a blue coat. Jesus and Mary have fair hair. A rainbow around Mary's head is superimposing the chief.

The Madonna was painted from 1516 until 1519 by Matthias Grünewald as central part of a tryptichon of the altar of "St.Mary of the Snows" in the St.Peter and Alexander Church in Aschaffenburg. The right part showed the "miracle of the snow", which should have happened in Rome in 352. The left part had disappeared. The central part was transferred to Stuppach in 1812. After having been restored it came back there in 2012.
