Meaning:
On 1 January 1975 the municipalities of Emmingen ab Egg and Liptingen merged (published in GesBl 248/1974). The new municipality kept the name Emmingen ab egg, but was given its current name on 1 September 1976 (published in GABl 1130/1976).
Bend and stars are taken from the municipal arms of Emmingen ab Egg, adopted in 1900. The bend was taken from the arms of the Lords of Emmingen. Stars and tinctures were taken from the arms of the Lordship of Hewen, to which Emmingen belonged since around 1466. The attire is taken from the municipal arms of Liptingen, adopted in 1895 and alluding to the Landgraviate of Nellenburg, to which the village belonged until 1805.
