Merklingen Coat of Arms

Shield Vert, issuant from base a mount chequered of Vert and Argent, on its top a small octagonal house Argent with port and two windows Sable.
Meaning:
All charges are referring to the production of linen. The house is the so called bleaching cottage, the chequered mount is symbolising the linen, drying on the local meadows.

The arms were approved on 17 November 1952 by the provisional government, published in GABl 109/1953. The banner was approved on 6 October 1981 by the county administration, published in GABl 352/1982.
