The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a red over white horizontal bicolour with the coat of arms in the centre of the flag.

Coat of arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a silver(=white) field is a vertical red chain with both outer rings broken.
According to source these had been the arms of the lords of Bönen, who had died out long ago.

Flag and coat of arms were approved by Regierungspräsident Arnsberg on 18 April 1969.
