Selb Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter quartered of Azure and Argent, at sinister parted per fess, above Azure an attire Argent, beneath Gules an attire Argent.
Meaning:
The pattern is known from seal prints since 1430. The Burgraves of Nürnberg had acquired the Lordship of Selb in 1412. Since then it had been the hunting ground of the burgraves, symbolised by the attires. A coloured painting displays the attires black in one white field without line of partition. The line of partition was added since 1767. The current tinctures were fixed in 1819. The shield before had been quartered of Argent and Sable, the family arms of the burgraves.
