Overview

Based on the Uus Eesti issue of December 7, 1938, it seems that Mustla as a town adopted both a coat of arms and flag anywhere from December 4 to December 6, 1938 (highly likely the latter) at a town council meeting, very shortly after becoming a town with its own proper government. The flag was silver gray, with a thinner blue central stripe. The ceremonial flag was decorated with the coat of arms centered and a golden fringe. It seems both symbols fell out of use when the Soviet era came to Estonia, so quite a short lived symbol. It does not appear that they were reinstated after independence, since Mustla had lost town privileges in 1979.

The coat of arms was sky blue, in the upper corner of the dexter side being a silver sun with four rays emanating from it. Three golden ears of wheat are found in the lower left corner. It seems Mustla also had an older coat of arms, one with a black bird in silver.
